1. THE JOB
As Proposal Writer, you will be undertaking the following tasks:
· Lead responsibility for writing and editing of unique methodologies and other parts of technical proposals for tenders (EU institutions, UN system, World Bank, USAID, GIZ, FCDO, etc.) in English; the ability to produce proposals in French is a strong advantage;
· Producing high quality methodologies, by ensuring readability, consistency, conciseness, and accuracy;
· Liaising with CMC Staff members and subject-matter experts for technical inputs;
· Researching data and information for the preparation of specific parts of methodologies;
· Creating graphs and tables to visualise and communicate effectively complex information, as part of methodologies;
· Editing and formatting texts in compliance with the Donor’s requirements;
· Carrying out quality control and proofreading of texts.
2. WORKING CONDITIONS
· The position is full-time and home-based;
· The start date is as soon as possible and when we have identified a suitable candidate;
· There will be a three-months’ probation period;
· In addition to a fixed monthly salary you will receive a bonus for each successful proposal prepared;
· You will have 24 vacation days per year in addition to national holidays (depending on the legislation of employment);
· On a normal work day, you will speak with CMC’s Heads of Regions, CMC’s Framework Contracts and Business Development Manager and the project implementation teams to discuss, update and coordinate work.

4. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
· Relevant Master’s degree in the social sciences or economics;
· At least 4 years of relevant work experience in our field of work, including experience working as proposal/content/technical writer for profit or non-profit organisations;
· Familiarity with the procurement mechanisms of any of the main international donors;
· Experience in conducting research in fields including: security, peacebuilding and conflict management, migration; experience in monitoring and evaluation assignments would be considered an asset;
· Proficiency in MS Office and especially MS Word;
· Excellent communication and writing skills in English;
· Detail-oriented, able to work under pressure and against tight deadlines.
5. KNOWLEDGE
· You are well-informed about global political and social relations and developments, and you have a good understanding of the major actors in international conflict and development;
· You have a strong interest to expand your knowledge of CMC’s main fields of work.
