Level: Officer Classification: LE-07 Location: Stockholm, Sweden Closing date for applications: 14-02-2021 at 23:59 UTC/GMT Summary of position: Under the general supervision of the Political Counsellor, the incumbent is responsible for promoting Canadian interests through Public Affairs initiatives which involves reaching the best-targeted and most influential audiences possible. This includes: (1) developing and implementing advocacy initiatives in support of Canadian priority objectives; (2) managing cultural initiatives involving Canadian artists; (3) facilitating appropriate media relations related to Embassy programs; (4) coordinating communications activities; and (5) assisting the Ambassador in related outreach activities. Perform other duties as required. Essential qualifications: Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications. Education: • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university Language: • Fluency in English (oral and written) • Fluency in Swedish (oral and written) Experience: • A minimum of 3 years’ recent* experience in communications, public affairs, cultural and/or media relations; • Experience in project and budget management; • Experience of organizing events; Recent* is defined as within the last 7 years. Rated Requirements: The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment. Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications.
