Desired Qualifications

● Minimum of a Master’s degree in Statistics, Demographics, Populations Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Economics, or similar fields with a strong quantitative or analytical component is a must;

● At least 5 years of working experience in research, humanitarian, and development sectors;

● Proven experience of working with a variety of statistical software like R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, etc;

● Proven ability to manipulate and present data by using standard tabulation and statistical software packages;

● Proven ability to visualize and communicate the data, including within a larger narrative report;

● Targeted expertise in social research, particularly livelihoods, social cohesion and stability, or refugee communities and migration;

● Additional expertise in at least one of the following areas: child protection, youth, human rights, gender;

● Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working in Lebanon a must. Additional knowledge or experience in other MENA countries, as well as Eastern Europe or Central Asia a plus;

● Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills;

● Collaborative and constructive team member;

● Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment;

● Strong presentation skills;

● Knowledge of qualitative analysis software a plus;

● Examples of published research a plus;

● Fluency in written and oral English. Arabic and other regionally relevant languages are an advantage.

Examples of Tasks**

● Conduct and lead quantitative research including literature review, research design, tool design, analysis and discussion, and generation of recommendations;

● Investigate, analyse, and interpret data using accepted statistical techniques;

● Recommend and develop statistical approaches for use in analyses;

● Prepare analysis plans and write detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures;

● Provide clear written and verbal summary interpretations of statistical analyses conducted;

● Conduct monitoring and evaluation studies;

● Assist in the coordination of field team;

● Lead training on new projects and research tools with field teams;

● Assist in business development including conceptualization of new research studies, proposal writing, and strategic planning;

● Organize project files, data, and documents;

● Attend meetings with project partners;

● Strengthen team dynamics;

● Develop articles for publication;

● Undertake continuing professional development and participate in national and international workshops;

● Establish collaborative links with international professional organizations.

This post will report directly to the CRD CEO, Deputy for Program Management, and Head of Research and Operations. This post will work directly with the Head of Social Research and Head of Public Policy and Strategy. Coordination and collaboration will take place with the Public Health and Access to Justice Departments.

This is a full-time position. The post location is flexible, allowing for remote work. The start date is ASAP. Candidates will be interviewed on a rolling basis.
