Regional Virtual Adviser for EducationUSA
Overview:
The multilingual virtual adviser will be dedicated to the North Africa/Middle East region to help standardize virtual engagement for EducationUSA, expanding outreach to key audiences. The position will be based in the Middle East/North Africa and is contingent on availability of funding.
Description of Responsibilities:
· Play a coordinating role for virtual engagement of EducationUSA activities in the Middle East and North Africa to develop and execute a strategy for region-wide virtual engagement.
· Provide streamlined content for social media platforms that can be adapted across the region, focusing primarily on Arabic and/or French language resources.
· Identify key vehicles across the region through which information about U.S. higher education can be disseminated in innovative ways (i.e., YouTube, radio, TV, other online platforms).
· Strengthen relationships with key third-party validators who reach Arabic audiences.
· Consolidate and share online resources, presentations, and webinars in Arabic and English (and potentially French) that are created specifically for the region.
· Design and host virtual seminars for guidance counselors in the region, in English and Arabic.
· Design and facilitate virtual engagement specifically for parents, who are often the key decision-makers for students.
· Coordinate with EducationUSA Communications leads to establish and share best-practices in virtual engagement with advisers.
· Collaborate with existing EducationUSA virtual advisers for the region to leverage existing resources, share best practices, and expand impact.
· Direct queries to country-specific advisers as relevant.
Qualifications:
· Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English. French language skills desirable.
· Four or more years of full-time relevant work experience in advising students and parents interested in U.S. study opportunities.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent minimum, including long-term educational experience in the United States.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and customer service orientation.
· Knowledge of U.S. and local educational systems and credentials.
· Demonstrated ability to produce clearly written and attractive promotional pieces and presentations.
· Significant experience in communicating with the public, including presentation skills.
· Proficiency in the use of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, Telegram) and software platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, G Suite, MailChimp, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office.
· Basic knowledge of best practices regarding the design and delivery of digital content including graphic and audio products as well as both pre-recorded and live interactive web videos.
· Basic knowledge of website management including regularly updating content as well as integrating third party services such as social media feeds, email or e-newsletters, and automated calendar or scheduling apps.
· Demonstrated experience tracking and reporting online performance metrics.
· Demonstrated knowledge of digital outreach, virtual engagement, and virtual advising strategies.
· Demonstrated skills in marketing, branding, and promotion.
