Renewable Energy Testing Equipment

Overview :

The UNDP is funding the implementation of an Access to Clean and Renewable Energy (ACRE) Project with an expected completion date of December 2021. One of the outputs of the ACRE Project is a strengthened regulatory and institutional capacity for improved energy sector coordination, research & development enhancement. One of the key gaps identified in the energy sector is the lack of capacity in the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) to undertake quality and standardisation compliance testing of renewable energy technology equipment, electrical and electronic components. This inadequacy has led to an influx of low quality and substandard RET items such as Solar panels, Batteries, Inverters, lanterns, etc. The Malawi Bureau of Standards has constructed a designated Laboratory Testing facility for Renewable Energy Technology equipment. ACRE Project has therefore allocated part of the funds in 2021 annual workplan and budget in procuring RET testing equipment for the MBS RET laboratory.

The UNDP Malawi Country Office therefore invites quotations from eligible suppliers for the supply, installation, commissioning, training and handover of an Integrated photovoltaic test system with Class AAA simulator, Mechanical Load Tester and Temperature Chamber for Battery Tester
