REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)
- CONTEXT
As part of the Agenda 2030, and SDG 16.9 Provide legal identity for all, including birth registration, the United Nations Development programme often supports partner governments in the implementation of Civil registration projects, including the issuance of secure Identity documents.
In this context, UNDP Procurement Services Unit (PSU) is mandated to support the procurement and project implementation within the broader UNDP programmatic portfolio. Identity document issuance being one of the crucial components in national Identity projects, UNDP PSU often supports UNDP national partners in setting up in-country secure document personalization bureaus.
With the present Request for Information, UNDP PSU intends to identify suitable providers of Identity card personalization solutions, and to gather information on available solutions, estimated costs and production lead-times.
In this particular instance, UNDP PSU would like to request information on medium and high-volume modular laser engraving machines, for the personalization of ICAO compliant secure documents, both with and without chip encoding, as well as the relevant accessory systems (e.g., quality control, milling, chip embedding, sorting and mailing modules).
- OBJECTIVE
This is a Request for Information (RFI) from Vendors to provide information on their product lineups as per the minimum technical requirements established in section 1. This RFI is not linked to a particular project, nor does it constitute or imply the acceptance of any offer by UNDP. No contract or purchase order will result of this RFI.
- INFORMATION REQUESTED
Interested vendors are requested to fill out Section 2: indicating the required information about available models within their portfolio compliant with the minimum technical requirements as stated in Section 1: minimum technical specifications.
Interested Vendors are also requested to attach corresponding product technical datasheets for the models outlined in Section 2, as well as other information materials as vendor sees appropriate.
