REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL – NGO/CSO to Deliver Cash for Work

Overview :

Request for Proposal (RFP)

Proposal for an NGO/CSO to Deliver Cash for Work and Public-Private Financing Mechanisms to Open New Market Opportunities in Food, Agriculture and Commodities Systems

The COVID-19 global pandemic has caused unprecedented socio-economic impacts and, at the same time, raised awareness on the role sustainability needs to play in everyday life and economic activities. The Uganda UN COVID-19 Socio-Economic Assessment underscored the need for economic recovery based on simultaneously harnessing natural resources in a sustainable manner and building resilience to shocks. The assessment recommended the development and implementation of a comprehensive recovery plan for the tourism industry that advances fundamental changes providing for:

a)             Creative interventions to support and build resilience of both formal and informal businesses.

b)            Sustenance of employment to protect vulnerable workers and households.

c)             Restoration of travelers’ confidence; and

d)            Stimulation of demand including in non-traditional markets.

To this end, UNDP Uganda has developed a project intended to harness nature, culture, and digital technology to stimulate the recovery and build a resilient tourism industry in Uganda. The project will focus on reinforcing tourism and protecting livelihoods of people working in the sector.

UNDP seeks the services of a suitably qualified National NGO/CSO to deliver Cash for Work and public-private financing mechanisms to open new market opportunities in Food, Agriculture and Commodities systems.
