Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manger, Electric Vehicle-Grid Integration, you will help strengthen our knowledge of vehicle-grid integration, fleet electrification, zero-emission zones, sustainable battery technologies, consumer behavior, and/or other electric mobility-related topics. As a key member of the eMobility team, you will provide the team with a more advanced understanding of the associated technical, economic, equity, political, and social factors associated with these topics. In addition, you will help advance WRI’s global electric mobility strategy in the U.S. and internationally.
You will work to expand and apply your expertise through activities such as research writing, organizing workshops and webinars, and engagement with other experts within and outside WRI. You will also support the work of the electric mobility team on other topics, such as the Electric School Bus Initiative. The Global e-Mobility team functions within the Urban Mobility team within the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities and collaborates closely with other WRI programs.
This position is remote due to Covid-19 and can remain remote once restrictions are lifted.
Job Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis (60%)
- Conduct research and analysis on topics related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure, zero-emission zones, fleet electrification, sustainable batteries, consumer behavior and others as assigned
- Topics also include the policy landscape of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and energy storage systems
- Author, review, and contribute to the development of publications, articles and analytical tools
- Collaborate and communicate with relevant team members across WRI’s programs and international offices
- Support project coordination with external research partners and assist with other projects and activities as needed
- Liaise with energy, transportation and planning experts internally and externally on research deliverables
Outreach and Communication (20%)
- Organize external events, workshops, conferences, and other project dissemination or capacity building activities
- Represent the electric mobility team in internal and external communications related to research engagements and other inquiries
- Coordinate projects with junior staff in both official and unofficial capacities
Administrative (20%)
- Support project management duties, help support database management, take meeting minutes and notes, support and other tasks as assigned at various external and internal functions and events
- Support the hiring processes and onboarding activities for new electric mobility team members
- Assist with the creation of proposals and concept notes including deliverables, timelines, and budgets
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant, professional full-time work experience
- Excellent research, writing, editing, and oral communication skills
- Academic or professional experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses
- Demonstrated ability to work well in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, and work under tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented, organized, and independent thinker
- U.S. work authorization
- Fluency in English
Potential Salary:
$46,000 – $60,700. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
