Main tasks and duties

You will support the preparation of two reports/studies:

  • In-depth analysis of available publications of extended research in nine study areas (Education and science, health, safety, housing, social security, public administration, environmental protection and climate change, economy, Innovation/R&D and Infrastructure, sports, culture & participation. The 10th cluster will cover additional research topics to be selected in mutual agreement and could e.g. cover specific functions like: tax departments, social security agencies, cadaster/land registry and mapping, inspection and supervision departments).
  • Exploratory study to identify available and relevant data bases.

Both studies will cover the following countries: 27 EU Member States plus UK, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA. You will also be involved in the preparation of the detailed benchmarking study proposals: 2022 and 2022 – 2025.

Specific task will consist of investigation and preparation of the following in 2021:

  • Website (but not only) search on:
    • databases compiled by international organizations: Eurostat, EU-SILC, EC, OECD, UNODC, World Bank, Websites of governmental administration, agencies and institutes from 35 countries being subject of the study, etc.
    • available publications of extended research in benchmarking study areas (academia, research institutions, international organizations)
    • best possible benchmarking partners
    • best possible experts.
  • Internal database of Best Practices – in cooperation with the EPSA team.
  • Data base of benchmarking study partners (e.g. MS National Schools/Institutes of Public Administration, universities).
  • Participation in elaboration and execution of surveys or questionnaires.
  • Helping the project coordinator in different tasks.

Job requirements:

  • a Master degree in a field relevant to the Institute’s activities;
  • experience in benchmarking studies, especially in quantitative analyses;
  • experience in qualitative analysis will be regarded as an asset;
  • knowledge of the EU Institutions;
  • some experience in working with European academic, and/or public administrative organisations will be regarded an asset;
  • very good editorial and writing skills;
  • excellent research skills.
