About the Position
BRAC USA seeks an intern with exceptional writing and research skills to support the Program Team for Spring 2022. Reporting to the Sr. Program Manager, Research & Learning at BRAC USA, the Research, Innovation, and Learning Intern will work with a small but productive team.
This is a paid, part-time internship. The ideal candidate will be able to work remotely 15-20 hours per week, preferably in the mornings (EST) Monday – Thursday. This internship will begin on or about January 18, 2022, and will continue for 15 weeks. Applicants should be available for orientation on January 18, 2022.
Primary Responsibilities
- Locate, read, and summarize relevant research articles.
- Draft and edit concise research briefs and literature reviews.
- Create brief summaries of data analyses and/or data visualizations.
- Schedule meetings and document minutes.
- As appropriate, provide more in-depth support on survey development, data analysis, and the preparation of grant proposals.
Qualifications
- At least a rising senior or equivalent years of education and/or experience, graduate student preferred.
- A demonstrated passion for international development and BRAC’s mission.
- An aptitude for research (e.g., curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability to summarize information).
- Excellent writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Excel, including managing datasets, utilizing pivot tables, and analyzing data.
- Deadline and task-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, team-oriented (virtual) atmosphere.
- An interest in women’s economic empowerment and/or youth empowerment preferred.
- Experience with survey design, including question construction and levels of measurement preferred.
- Experience with advanced quantitative (e.g., R) and qualitative tools for data management and analysis preferred.
