Exigo Research & Communications is an independent and non-partisan consulting firm headquartered in Madrid, Spain. Our team of local and international experts include monitoring and evaluation specialists, social researchers, technical experts and media experts with on the ground experience and access to hard to reach and marginalised communities around the world. Exigo provides Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and research services for humanitarian and development actors, to inform their programming and inform decision-makers through evidence based research by documenting lessons learned from past experiences, and informing future interventions and policy.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support M&E and research project during the inception, design, analysis and report write of phases
- Conduct desk review
- Conduct qualitative interviews
- Quality check of research data
- Responsible for the coding of qualitative data and cleaning of quantitative data
- Support in addressing comments shared by Clients on Exigo projects’ reports
- Support in the preparation and presentation of research findings
- Participate on behalf of Exigo in relevant workshops, meetings, and/or trainings
- Provide regular follow up and updates to Exigo on work progress
- Support in identifying and drafting research proposals
- Provide additional support as needed
- Participate in team meetings.
Report to: Research Programme Manager, Director of Research, Director of Operations
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Master’s degree in a relevant field of study
- Experience in conducting research and evaluation activities
- Data analysis background, proficiency in statistical analysis considered a plus
- Excellent written, presentation and facilitation skills
- Fluent in English, knowledge of Arabic, French and/or Spanish is a plus
- Software knowledge: NVivo, SPSS, Stata, KoBo, and other analytical tools is a plus
- Experience working in the humanitarian and development contexts
- Experience in and knowledge of the context in the MENA region is a plus
- Willingness to learn and open to new ways of working
- Able to take initiative, work under minimal supervision and be flexible
- Good organisational and effective time management skills
- Ability to think, plan, prioritise and organize in a clear and structured way
- Ability to multitask and work on a number of projects simultaneously.
