RFP – Consultancy for crafting of Manual for the Development of Community-Based Adult Support Groups for Children (CBASGC)

Educo Philippines has its country office in Legazpi City, Albay and has been operating within the Bicol Region since 2005. It now has two field offices, one in Pilar, Sorsogon and another in Caramoran, Catanduanes. Through its programs on Education, Child Protection, Child-Friendly Local Governance and Child-Centered Disaster Risk Reduction Management (CC-DRRM), Educo Philippines has so far reached at least 150,000 children, 31,000 adults, 192 schools, 12 municipal LGUs, 184 barangay LGUs and 381 communities in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon and Albay. In 2019, EDUCO expanded its operations in Catanduanes for sponsorship and in Zamboanga Peninsula through local implementing partners.

The Consultant’s engagement will be specifically under the activity Crafting of a Manual for the Development of CBASGC, and Training and Mentoring of Educo PH and NGO Partner Staff on the Developed Manual.

Expected Results and scope:

• A manual for the development of CBASGC
• Trained and mentored Educo PH program staff and Coastal CORE staff on the developed manual

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*The Consultant must possess the following qualifications:**

• Experience in conducting research and crafting of manual of operations and similar endeavors.
• Master’s degree in community development, social work and other related fields. PhD degree will be an added advantage.
• With at least 5 years direct experience and practice in organizing, capacity development and mentoring of Self-Help Groups (SHG) and other forms of Grassroots Community Organizations (GCO) in the Philippines.
• Possesses the capacity to write and contextualize an SHG/GCO Manual into a Manual for the Development of Community-Based Adult Support Groups for Children (CBASGC), in collaboration with Educo’s TS-CFLG.
• Willing and ready to comply with Educo’s organizational policies and standards such as but not limited to Child Safeguarding Policy, Anti-Fraud, Whistle Blower Policy, and P&C Policies and Procedures.
• Willing and ready to abide by Educo’s financial policies and procedures and government tax laws.
• With excellent written and verbal skills in English and Filipino. Proficiency in Bicol language, an advantage.
• Highly committed, strong level of initiative, and able to work with people coming from different organizations.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ARRANGEMENTS:

The consultant will collaborate closely with Educo’s Technical Specialist on Child-Friendly Local Governance. The Fundación Educación y Cooperación – Educo shall have the sole ownership of the final output.
