At the direction of the department head, leads the day-to-day oversight for accounting and fiscal compliance for both domestic and international grants. Manages and develops grant policies, procedures, training responsibilities, and materials to optimize both grant administration/compliance and program efficacy for both field and ABA staff.

Principal Duties/Job Responsibilities
-Leads reports and manages oversight and compliance for all field and grant activities. Assists in field, internal and external year end audits.
-Functions as the subject matter expert on all compliance activities related to grants and activities and counsels program leadership on such issues.
-Develops, recommends, and implements, approved modifications to policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and enhance business processes.
-Oversees and is accountable for training of all grant staff in grant and organization financial policies,
procedures, and regulations.
-Directs and is accountable for journalization of standard and monthly journal entries for grant activities.
-Liaises with ABA departments and responds to request s for information from outside auditors, funders,
members, staff, and vendors.
-Provides leadership, coaching, counseling, performance feedback and appraisal, and, where necessary applies discipline to an assigned group of employees.

Basic Qualifications & Interests
-Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
-At least three (3) years’ experience in grant accounting, reporting, and grant/program compliance.
-At least three (3) years’ experience interpreting and applying grant rules and regulations from government entities (e.g., OMB circulars) and/or private donors.
-Advanced-level skill in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests
-At least two years’ experience leading/supervising a staff group of grant accounting/compliance team members.
-Fluency in a language of a host country for which support is provided.
-Possession of an advanced degree and/or CPA.
