About the Role

IT Operations Specialist  reporting to IT Manager to provide staff management and mentorship, project planning, management and execution in a culturally diverse work environment, following department’s vision and goals to the realize staff career goals. You require managerial skills, project coordination competencies and an understanding of technical skills and IT networking. Experience in report writing and documentation are an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Managerial 

  • Manage staff and hold weekly check-ins.
  • Manage tasks and projects for your team to ensure delivery.
  • Provide mentorship to your team.
  • Maintain minimum manager standards.

Strategic Team and Department Planning : Work with ITO Manager Rwanda to:

  • Create department’s projects to match the program’s vision and goals and goals.
  • Plan and promote adherence to long-term calendaring for ITO projects
  • Coordinate monthly, weekly, quarterly and annual meetings for the ITO department.
  • Coordinate the production of ITO Service scheduled reports.
  • Help communication between ITO Department and OAF staff

Projects Planning and Oversight

  • Help scope on ITO projects
  • Lead efforts to run projects aimed at creating value to the business and improving ITO across Rwanda
  • Keep track of ITO projects status, identify risks to the said projects and work on mitigation strategies for said risks.

IT Asset Management

  • Manage Rwanda inventory
  • Implement inventory management techniques to ensure inventory data integrity and consistency.

Technical support

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of ITO Service (hardware and software technical support) and ITO Networks (Basic IT
  • Networks design, maintenance and troubleshooting).
  • Work with ITO Manager RW to coordinate IT Service activities.
  • Coordinate scheduled and on demand maintenance on user computers.

Specialized Functions

  • Staff interaction: (includes ; Induction of new staffers and onboarding presentations to new OAF staff)
  • Train IT officers.

Documentation

  • Manage ITO documentation. Coordinate the creation, updating, organization and management.
  • Any other tasks as may be assigned to you by your supervisor.

Qualifications

We are looking for an IT professional with 2+ years of work experience and ideally a demonstrated passion for our mission. Specific qualifications include:

  • 1+ years experience managing 1-3 team members
  • Experience to provide mentorship and guidance to direct reports to grow careers.
  • Interpret organizations/department visions and goals and map out team , technology and people projects to attain those
  • work with leadership to lay high-level plans and provide technical interpretation
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of ITO Service (hardware and software technical support) and ITO Networks (Basic IT
  • Networks design, maintenance and troubleshooting). experience in coordination of projects that involve multiple cross departmental partners
  • Experience in writing and coordinating the writing of technical and nontechnical documentation
