The School is searching for qualified, dynamic and motivated people to fill the following position:-
School Nurse, State House Campus
The school nurse is a vital role within the school to ensure health and safety of our students. The Nurse will be responsible for maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports. Administering first line medications to students and monitoring them for side effects and reactions and referring patients for further tests in hospitals where necessary. Other duties include:-
a) Assessing the health needs of the whole school community and developing a health plan, including Health and Safety Policies.
b) Providing confidential health advice for individual children.
c) Supporting, advising, counselling and referring children experiencing mental health problems, such as depression.
d) Supporting vulnerable children by working alongside teachers and other professionals.
e) Providing advice for parents, careers and school staff on childhood illnesses and the management and control of infectious diseases.
f) Develops and implements a student health plan.
g) Interprets the health status of students to parents and school personnel.
h) Utilizes existing health resources to provide appropriate care of students.
i) Maintains, evaluates and interprets cumulative health data to accommodate individual needs of students.
j) Develops procedures and provides for emergency nursing management for injuries/illnesses.
k) Provides health education and anticipatory guidance
l) Improvement of health by teaching persons to become more assertive health consumers and to assume greater responsibility for their own health.
j) Ensure proper hygiene is fostered around the middle school section especially around the lavatories
