Division of Transdisciplinary Sciences, Graduate School of Frontier Science Initiative, Kanazawa University, is seeking PhD/Master students in Bioscience and biotechnology, Neuroscience, Chemistry and Applied Chemistry, Bioengineering, Mechanical engineering, Archeology, and Cognitive Science.
CHALLENGE SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION THROUGH FUSION OF DISCIPLINES
Graduate School of Frontier Science Initiative, Kanazawa University and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, jointly established the Division of Transdisciplinary Sciences to “foster Human Resources for Scientific and Technological Innovation” who can lead society powerfully with outstanding ideas and abilities to take action in an uncertain modern society. The policy of the Division is “fusion of disciplines based on student’s major”. Students study idea, technology and skills of research fields different from their major through lectures and practical training.

Your Qualifications
- Highly creative and motivated candidate with knowledge of either Bioscience and biotechnology, Neuroscience, Chemistry and Applied chemistry, Bioengineering, Mechanical engineering, Archeology, or Cognitive Science.
- Able to communicate clearly in English or Japanese.
- For Doctoral course: Acquired or expected master’s degree.
- For Master’s course: Acquired or expected undergraduate degree.

Students receiving other scholarships and adult students may not receive the full amount, or any amount, of this scholarship.
Doctoral course: 100,000JPY/month (maximum 3 years period)
Other scholarships are prepared for PhD students. For more information about them, please contact us.
Master’s course: 50,000JPY/month (maximum 2 years period)
Only Master’s course students who intend to continue onto the Doctoral course can receive the scholarship.

[Full tuition exemption in WISE Program]
Full tuition and admission fee exemption for Master’s and Doctoral course students taking part in the WISE Program*.
- WISE Program imposes a limit on the number of eligible students and depends upon student evaluation.
- Full tuition exemption will be applied to two years for Master’s course students and three years for Doctoral course Students.
*WISE Program: MEXT has solicited universities in the WISE Program (Doctoral course for World-leading Innovative & Smart Education) since the 2018-2019 academic year. The following WISE Program has been approved for Kanazawa University: WISE Program for Nano-Precision Medicine, Science and Technology.
Besides WISE Program, students who meet the following condition are eligible to apply for full or half of tuition exemption: Students who have difficulty paying tuition due to financial reasons and who are recognized as having excellent academic records.
