The Opportunity
Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the permanent Senior Capacity Building Manager. As part of Save the Children’s global 2016-2018 strategic plan, creating a high performing organization is one of nine priorities. As part of this priority, Save the Children wishes to establish global capability for best practice change and process improvement. This will enable the delivery of the major changes to process, systems and organisation envisaged in our current strategy and create a culture of continuous improvement that will impact how we work in all areas of our operation, over time. The Senior Capacity Building Manager in the Accelerating Delivery & Improvement team will have a direct impact on the organisation’s ability to meet this objective. S/he will work directly with senior management and their staff throughout all parts of the Save the Children movement to: increase capacity and capabilities, identify improvement areas, deliver measurable and sustainable change, and drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organisation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Lean/Six Sigma, change management and/or project management trained/certified or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree essential, Masters degree desirable in Business, International Development or a related field.
- ADI Practitioner status
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Cross-functional leadership, building effective teams, and reaching objectives through influence is critical.
- Experience delivering improvements through the application of project management and/or continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all cultures.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Able to prioritize time and tasks and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Managerial courage is critical in this role.
- Significant experience in managing and creating processes and workflows, including finance and operations.
- Demonstrated data analysis proficiency.
