Want to use your skills in campaigning and communications to play a vital role in making clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone everywhere?

Join WaterAid as Senior Communications Campaigner to change normal for millions of people so they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good. On top of that you’ll be joining a 2020 Great Place to Work® award-winning organisation.

The WaterAid Global Campaigns Team plays a leadership role across the WaterAid Federation to drive the design and delivery of WaterAid’s major advocacy and campaigns efforts to achieve SDG 6 – the global targets to secure clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene (WASH) for all by 2030. We deliver an ambitious agenda, grounded in national level change and impact.

As our dynamic and creative Senior Communications Campaigner you will play a key role in strengthening the impact of WaterAid’s global advocacy priority campaigns by enhancing the role of communications strategies and tactics in support of advocacy objectives.

Whether it’s persuading climate change decision-makers that sustainable access to clean water is fundamental to community resilience and adaptation, or convincing those focused on COVID-19 and future pandemic threats that investing in handwashing services must be a top priority, your work will show governments, donors and businesses why they need to take urgent action for WASH.

This is a full time, permanent role.

About you:
You will work with policy, advocacy and communication colleagues across the global organisation to translate core policy messaging into strong, compelling advocacy communications and products, and harness strategic communication channels to effectively influence decision-makers at international, regional and country levels.

* You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience of designing compelling campaign messages and communications across a range of channels, including ability to translate complex issues into simple messages that non-expert audiences can understand and act on.
* Experience of developing and delivering campaign strategies (drawing on research, policy, advocacy, public campaigning and/or media and digital channels) to influence a political agenda.
* You’ll be a confident and efficient project manager, able to build great relationships and keep a cross-departmental team moving forwards together.

Salary:
