IFES seeks a Senior Electoral Political Advisor to provide advisory support to inform current and future Pacific Islands programming that will allow for rapid research and analysis as needed for projects across the region.

Job Responsibilities:

At the direction of the Pacific Islands Country Director and HQ Leadership, the consultant will provide the following services:

• Provide targeted technical support and advice on political economy situation in the Pacific Islands region;
• Conduct research and analyses on Pacific Islands political and electoral issues; and
• Provide strategic regional developments / cooperation advice across all countries in the Pacific.

Qualifications: 

• PhD in political science, international relations, or related field;
• 16+ years of experience in research, academia, or related;
• Expert knowledge of the political context in the Pacific Islands region;
• Excellent writing and editing skills; and
• Expertise in democracy and governance in developing country settings including: political and electoral process and participation and inclusion.
