Overview: DT Global is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join the Communications division who will be responsible for enhancing the design elements of internal and external communications in print and digital media. The Senior Graphic Designer will contribute to the design of several areas including the website, social media, presentations, print publications, reports, proposals, and infographics. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Senior Graphic Designer will work primarily with the Communications team based in Washington, D.C. but will also provided support as necessary to projects, including potential travel to the field.

Primary Responsibilities:

Communications (50%):

  • Provide quality control and uphold the overall look and feel of DT Global collateral and assist other members of the Communications team in enhancing the impact of DT Global brand
  • Design and maintain print and online marketing materials
  • Prepare corporate presentations including PowerPoint decks
  • Design online graphics including animations, templates, and tailored artwork for website, social media, email outreach, advertisements, posters, and other materials as required
  • Maintain and enrich DT Global library of photographic and image assets
  • Perform coordinating and administrative duties as needed

Business Development Support (35%):

  • Design illustrations, infographics, and other materials to support proposal efforts
  • Engage with business development teams to brainstorm graphical approaches to communicating technical and management concepts
  • Create templates based on DT Global and client-specific branding guidelines
  • Use strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks with differing deadlines and consistently produce a professional document

Project Support (15%):

  • Design illustrations, infographics, and other materials to support project efforts
  • Engage with project delivery teams to brainstorm graphical approaches to communicating technical concepts
  • Design/format other project needs, i.e. brochures, factsheets, logos, org charts, PowerPoint presentations, Outlook invites, etc.
  • Support with formatting project deliverables including monthly/quarterly/annual/work plan/financial/etc. reports
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary

Education & Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a graphic design role
  • Proven experience in graphic design and/or desktop publishing, such as editing, lay-out and publishing for newspaper, marketing materials, etc.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proven organizational and time management skills with superior attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Interest and desire to work in the international development industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on layout, branding and marking, or design for US government proposals is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and training on a wide application of design principles, theories, and concepts
