Know our team
Nutrition International’s External Relations (ER) unit is a diverse team of dedicated professionals with extensive global experience in advocacy, policy influence, government relations, and communications. The unit leads, coordinates, and supports global government relations, global advocacy, business development with institutional donors, and corporate and digital communications. The ER unit works closely with other teams across the organization to grow and diversify resources for Nutrition International’s global strategy and Investment Case, drive thought leadership, and grow global support for nutrition, and Nutrition International. The ER team is located in Nutrition International’s Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada, with dedicated counterparts within our Regional Offices in Africa and Asia.
About you
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a similar field. You have 7 years’ experience working with the government(s) of Canada, United States, and/or European Union, and/or with other major donors, such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and at least 2 years of experience in a management position. You have experience leading complex government relations programs and translating good strategy and have a passion for empowered leadership.
About the role
In this role you will:
- Lead Nutrition International’s government relations, building and executing engagement approaches with new and existing institutional donors.
- Provide expert advice to Nutrition International’s executive management and leadership teams on government and donors trends, strategies and approaches.
- Support cross-unit business development efforts working with Nutrition International teams in country, regional and global offices.
- Ensure business development goals and objectives influence all Nutrition International’s external initiatives, from technical convening to communications and advocacy events.
