This is an exciting opportunity for a highly professional and collaborative individual who has experience of working on sensitive peacebuilding projects related to Syria and/or the Middle East.

International Alert has an exciting opportunity for a highly professional and collaborative individual who has experience of working on sensitive peacebuilding projects related to Syria and/or the Middle East. You will have a proven ability to work on complex peacebuilding assignments, with a high level of conflict sensitivity, and with a good awareness and understanding of the Syria conflict, multi-track diplomacy and peace processes.

In return, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role in the implementation and coordination of peacebuilding projects related to the Syria conflict, with a particular focus on mediation, dialogue facilitation, and advocacy within the context of the multitrack peace process. You will also support the growth and sustainability of the Syria Programme over the longer term and help to identify and develop opportunities to consolidate and expand Alert’s peacebuilding work in Syria and the wider Middle East region.

Salary: Competitive, plus excellent benefits
Contract: 1 year (renewable)
Based: Flexible (Alert office location)
