Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Umbraco Back-end Web Developer to join our team based in Islamabad, (although the role will initially be home-based during Covid-19 restrictions). You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of 170,000 – 320,000 Pakistani rupees depending on experience. Please note that the salary will be non-negotiable. You will be reporting to the Director of Communications, in HQ.
Key duties and responsibilities of our Senior Umbraco Back-end Web Developer:
To lead on the back-end design and development of Human Appeal’s website using Umbraco (version 7), including:
· Development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database
· Ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front and back-end teams, responsible for creating quality, manageable, high performing code, as well as collaborating with the Communications and Systems and Development Teams on impact assessments, cross functional workshops and decision-making in relation to technology choices, design considerations, user experience and strategy implementation to address the business’s needs
· This is all with a view to improving the user journey and experience on Human Appeal’s website in order to acquire, convert and retain supporters

What we’re looking for in our Senior Umbraco Back-end Web Developer:
- Proficient in Umbraco (version 7 or above) with previous experience of developing solutions on the Umbraco platform, including build and maintenance using Umbraco CMS, and experience in designing and building technical solutions to solve complex business problems
- Full stack development experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in back-end technologies (C#, ASP.NET MVC and Web AP), as well as strong knowledge of front-end (HTML/CSS and JS)
- Ideally you will have a background in web development and be familiar with the full lifecycle of a web project, from technical planning to front-end and back-end development
- Having worked with all parts of Umbraco, you’ll know your routing from your custom property editors, content finders and URL providers, and have experience of implementing responsive web templates into Umbraco
- Experience of; refactoring and optimization of code for performance; implementing business process automation; structured testing and quality assurance approaches, and delivering projects involving in-house resources and third-party suppliers
- Passionate about international development work and humanitarian aid
