Chemonics seeks a Client Engagement Specialist for the Procurement & Logistics Technology Center within its Global Health Supply Chain Office (GHSCO), located in Arlington, VA. The Client Engagement Specialist will be the first point of contact to segment specific clients for global procurement and in-country logistics services. They will be responsible for tapping into international donor organizations, INGOs, national government agencies, and private sector networks and develop a deep understanding of their needs and opportunities for their health and humanitarian commodity supply chain activities. The Client Engagement Specialist will lead meetings, conferences, and events to grow client’s enthusiasm for the service offering. They will leverage Chemonics’ larger supply chain network to grow the client base. They will coordinate closely with the Marketing and Communication Specialist to execute outreach and communication plans to provide clear and informative reports on market trends, successful client engagements, and lessons learned. They will also work with the Director of Global Supply Chain Services and Director of In-Country Supply Chain Solutions to develop technical products, service offerings, and value propositions to maintain full alignment with client requirements. Responsibilities include:

Stream Development:

  • Actively grow network and cultivate relationships with segment specific client contacts; introduce, illuminate, and engage them on the relevant product and services offerings that fit their organization’s health supply chain goals
  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs and opportunities of target market segments, namely donor organizations, INGOs, national government agencies, and private sector networks
  • Interpret client needs and work with wider team to develop and put forward appropriate offerings
  • Influence and engage the wider team across PLTC and Chemonics to fully harness our collective knowledge and relationship network
  • Maintain regular engagement with Chemonics’ Global Health Next Generation Supply Chain (GHSC) team and capture efforts
  • Manage and update Customer Relationship Management platform
  • Create tailored and engaging presentations for target clients in coordination with the Marketing and Communications Manager

Stream Execution:

  • Develop and supervise implementation of proposal strategies in collaboration with Marketing and Communications Director to optimize profitability and win rate
  • Act in a variety of proposal leadership roles to insure adherence to best practices and quality standards during preparation and submission
  • Execute virtual and in-person client engagement meetings and conferences
  • Communicate closely with the Marketing and Communications Specialist to present reports, trends, successes, and learnings from engagements with clients
  • Draw on wider team and consultant bench to support technical selling effort
  • Develop and implement innovative engagement approaches
  • Collaborate with the Director of Global Supply Chain Services and Director of In-Country Supply Chain Solutions to support the development of technical products, service offerings, and value propositions to maintain full alignment with client requirements and build competitive advantage

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of technically relevant work experience required; client engagement and sales specialist experience in supply chain and health commodities preferred
  • Business development experience with USAID required and preference for candidates with strong understanding of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, and GAVI
  • Demonstrated ability to engage clients face to face within a comprehensive communication strategy
  • Strong technical supply chain knowledge preferably in a developing country context
  • Experience leading responses to donor, INGOs, national government agencies, and private sector networks proposal requests (RFx’s)
  • Experience working with an ERP system preferred (Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI)
  • Self-starter, willing and able to lead the development of multiple operational processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team under time pressure with calm leadership while moving the team to achieve a time bound deliverable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, lead effective meetings and demonstrated presentation skills; strong cross-culture communication and sensitivity skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff, multiple project teams, remote staff and other initiatives
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of WordPress and/or Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of 4-8 weeks per year
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluent English required; proficiency in French or Portuguese preferred
