Overview

Are you someone who enjoys frequent travel and is excited about promoting the mission of Operation Christmas Child to national partners? Samaritan’s Purse is hiring a Student Relations Associate to support the Student Partnerships & Ministry Team in growing the Operation Christmas Child (OCC) ministry brand and public awareness, as well as promoting the follow-up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey.  Support will be given specifically in the areas of the coordination of OCC promotion at national events and conferences, the development of existing and new national partnerships, and providing support with mailings, shipping, and promotional data management. **NOTE: This is a six month, full-time seasonal role, starting in January 2022 and ending in June 2022. It requires frequent domestic travel over 16 weekends, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays typically as off days.

A day in the life of a Student Relations Associate:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Student Relations Associate, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Primarily support the Student Partnerships & Ministry Team to grow the depth and number of shoebox generating national partnerships
• Work closely with the Student Partnerships & Ministry Team to maximize the promotional impact of Operation Christmas Child at national events and conferences
• Provide support with the coordination and implementation of promotional events, including gathering and shipping materials, staffing coordination, and attending events as assigned
• Support the Student Partnerships & Ministry Team in data maintenance and management
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Must be flexible for frequent travel
• Demonstrated customer service ability
• Team player with a positive attitude and effective communication skills
• Logistics, data management, and high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Experience and/or study in marketing and brand promotion (preferred)
• Spanish speaking skills a plus

Education

Two years of college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Job Location: Boone, NC

Type:  Seasonal Associate (January – June 2022)

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required); Fluency in Spanish (preferred)

Travel Expectations: 50-60 days of travel from January to June, including 16 weekends
