JOB DESCRIPTION/SCOPE OF WORK

Position Title: System Integration & Deployment Advisor Web app

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

This scope of work (SOW) sets forth the services to be provided by the Front-End Web Developer to SAII Associates Ltd/Gte, an associate company of Chemonics International Inc. in the implementation of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) in Nigeria.

Background: The purpose of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program–Procurement and Supply Management single award IDIQ contract is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities to prevent suffering, save lives, and create a brighter future for families around the world. The IDIQ has four task orders that directly support the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and USAID’s family planning and reproductive health program. GHSC-PSM provides health commodity procurement services and systems strengthening technical assistance that address all elements of a comprehensive supply chain. All four task orders are implemented in Nigeria.

We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

· Develop new user-facing features.

· Build reusable code and libraries for future use.

· Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.

· Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.

· Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end.

· Perform other tasks as directed by your manager.

· Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all office rules and procedures as set forth in the field office policy manual.

· Support achievement of the overall project goals as required to ensure project performance.

Job Qualifications

· Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.

· Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.

· Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.

· Good understanding of VueJS

· Good understanding of backend technology and database

· Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, AJAX, JavaScript Fetch API, and Axiosjs.

· Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Adobe XD or Figma is a plus.

· Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

· At least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Supervision

The System Integration & Deployment Advisor Web app will report the Systems Integration and Development Manager.

Acknowledgement

The Front-End Web Developer will report directly to the Systems Integration and Development Manager.

Working Conditions/Duration of Assignment

This is a short-term position based in Abuja, Nigeria.
