A day in the life of a Team Wellness Advisor
We start each day with a time of devotions and prayer. We hear from members of our staff, both from our headquarters and our global offices, as well a special guest speakers who encourage us in God’s word. We then join together to prayer for one another, as well as praying for staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. We get paid to start each day this way!
The Team Wellness Advisor advises on matters related to team wellness and staff support. Liaising with the Director of Field Leadership Development, Projects Leadership, Country Directors, Member Care and other departments they would develop best practices in the area of member care and the building of healthy environments where staff can thrive. This role would also support the Leadership Development Pathway initiative and the leadership development efforts with country office leadership. International travel would be part of this role with opportunities to visit field offices to meet with staff and lead training sessions.
Job Duties
- Promotes the vision and philosophy of wellness across the Projects Department and Field Offices.
- Serves as a point of contact for staff support and wellness and liaises with other International Headquarters staff or departments involved in staff support, staff care, and wellness.
- Participates in the complementary efforts between Human Resources and Projects on support services and touchpoints provided during the life cycle of International Field Staff (IFS) and DART employees, including pre- and post-deployment support such as orientation and off boarding.
- Coordinates the cares and support of accompanying family members of IFS (i.e., spouse and children).
- Identifies and inventories external resource materials and develops delivery systems for employees related to team wellness. Also researches, designs, reviews, and disseminates internally developed support resources such as toolkits, trainings, and workshops.
- Collects feedback regarding team morale; channels feedback to the supervisor and assists in developing action points.
- Curates, produces and supports the activities of field leadership development including; webinars, symposiums, workshops and presentations

Qualifications & Experience
- Knowledge of general wellness principles as it relates to international humanitarian work.
- Ability to build trust through relationship with staff.
- Understanding of humanitarian international fieldwork.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with adult learning and how best to facilitate adult learning.
- Competent at curating leadership information and able utilize this information with staff.
- Organizational intelligence.
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent is required and a Master’s degree (M.A.) is preferred; and three to five (3-5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred
