Technical experts | Jordan | 2021

Chemonics seeks technical experts for the anticipated USAID Jordan Tourism Growth Activity. The $25-50 million project aims to promote economic growth and trade by supporting the tourism sector in Jordan through policy reforms, sectoral and destination tourism support, and engagement with the private sector. These positions will be based in Jordan. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Please note that these positions are contingent upon program award.

We are seeking candidates for leadership positions as well as tourism experts with in-depth knowledge of one or more of the following components:

  • Product Development
  • Human Resource Investments
  • Marketing Strategies
  • Heritage Protection and Preservation
  • Public Sector Tourism Reform

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant field; master’s degree preferred
  • Ten years of increasingly responsible work experience in tourism product development, human resource investments, marketing, heritage protection and preservation, or public sector tourism reform
  • In-depth knowledge of the operating context in Jordan based on previous experience working in the public or private sector, or in a nongovernmental organization, preferred
  • Experience working in collaboration with the Jordanian government, private sector organizations, tourism industry organizations, and international donors or would be an asset
  • Experience with USAID and/or similar donors preferred (not required)
  • Fluency in Arabic and strong written and oral/interpersonal communications skills required; proficiency in English a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
