The Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Utah State University invites applications for a one-year, full-time, academic-year (9 months) position as a Temporary Assistant Professor of Sociology. The appointment will begin in August 2021. We seek a candidate with experience and training in conducting qualitative research and teaching interests in race and ethnicity or social movements.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach 3 courses (9 credits) per semester. Teaching responsibilities will include both face to face and online classes. Courses taught will include a graduate seminar in qualitative research methods and undergraduate courses in race and ethnicity and/or social movements, as well as other courses based on departmental need and candidate expertise.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have a PhD in Sociology as of the employment date, and demonstrated accomplishment and/or clear potential for success in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Experience with online teaching is preferred.
