General Description of the Organization:
Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population. Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programs, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and their sustainability mechanisms.
Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations, local initiatives responding to the humanitarian Syrian crisis with capacity development programmes, to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities where we work in are ready for any future disasters.
Job Description:
Duty station: Sanliurfa
Characteristics:
– Experience in teaching business skills and in the business sector
– Strong focus on market dynamic and business development
– Strong collaboration with other staff
Permanent Tasks and Responsibilities:

Organisation and facilitation of vocational training sessions
– Based on counseling, identify PAS beneficiaries in need of business skills training
– Based on market mapping & research conducted by a market mapping assistant on regular basis, prioritize the gaps in the local market and incorporate the results of the market mapping research
– Reach out to beneficiaries to invite them to participate in business trainings per the recommendations of the Counselling Assistants
– Lead procurement of training materials and distribute at training sessions
– Ensure attendance sheets are filled out by all training participants and trainers at each training section
– File attendance sheets and training evaluations for easy access by Data Assistant and M&E Assistant
– Maintain up to date contact information for PAS beneficiaries and follow up with them after they receive business training, answering their questions and responding to their concerns -
General Programming and Operations
– At all times be aware of, note, and report to supervisor the changing needs of target populations in terms of business skills trainings
– Identify and discuss new approaches to improve the quality of business trainings
– Maintain the Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms (i.e. suggestion box at the centre) and liaise with relevant staff to analyze beneficiary feedback. -
Monitoring & Evaluation (10%)
– Work closely with the monitoring and data management team to provide relevant information and data, such as registration numbers, beneficiary feedback about business training, attendance sheets, training evaluations, etc.
– Participate in the internal evaluation of the program -
Complete any additional tasks identified by Supervisor
Essential Qualification :
– University degree or advanced in business administration, marketing, and/or economics.
– Knowledge and practice with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
– Relevant professional experience in the business sector is preferred
Essential Experiences :
– Experience in teaching business skills.
– Experience working with Syrian refugees is preferred
Required Skills and Competencies :
– Strong organizational and communication skills
– Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
– Ability to multi-task and cope with competing demands under tight deadlines
– Flexibility, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn from others
Language Skills :
– Fluency in Arabic and English is required (preferably both written and oral).
– Turkish is an asset.
