The Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) aims to achieve results for children by maximizing UNICEF’s private fundraising and advocacy around the world. To carry out this mission, PFP coordinates fundraising activities and private sector partnerships with 33 National Committees for UNICEF and 21 Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) country offices.
How can you make a difference?
These two individual contractors will provide marketing expertise and support across individual giving, identifying and driving the audience-focused approach with the aim of maximizing net income for UNICEF. The two individual contractors will be working with Individual Giving (IG) teams on bringing marketing automation and improvements to donor experience across channel and product strategies. These two roles will support the delivery of that automation through Salesforce and other CRMs as required. It will complement the existing expertise on journeys bringing experience of automation and the knowledge of how to get more from the modern CRMs UNICEF has invested in.
These two roles sit in the Individual Giving Team and reports to the Marketing Manager Individual Giving. The recruited individuals will be guided by the IMPACT plan, the Individual Giving Income Strategy and the Supporter Engagement Strategy (SES).
MAIN TASKS
Working with countries:
• Consult on the planning, building, and testing of journeys in markets; ensuring journeys are making the best use of data, marketing automation and personalization to grow individual giving revenue.
• Immerse with countries, running workshops to capture the current donor journeys and desired journeys, ensuring you can help countries understand how to make use of their CRM to improve the donor experience and financial performance of the journey.
• Provide expertise in the implementation of journeys, in coordination with PFP colleagues, removing technical obstacles for countries in the development of their CRM capability.
• Identify new opportunities for automation and AI to enhance donor journeys, reduce staff workload and/or improve the efficiency of processes. Support the testing and then scaling of these new approaches.
• Work with countries to support regular journey reviews and provide updated product advice as new functionality becomes available.
Working with PFP:
• Collaborate with the colleagues in Individual Giving and Regional Support Centres to ensure work is well planned and coordinated across remits.
• Collaborate with technical resources (e.g. Salesforce implementing partners) to ensure Business Analysts capture business needs that are well articulated and can be delivered in technical deployments.
• Provide guidance on how automation and the use of AI could be incorporated into and improve existing UNICEF best practice in journeys and donor segmentation.
Other duties:
• Ensure the Marketing Manager is provided with key documents as needed to provide up-to-date schedules and deliverables for stakeholders.
• Support knowledge management activities by capturing and sharing key insights as required for the Knowledge Management process.
DELIVERABLES
• Work with recently developed journey planning templates to capture existing donor journeys, identifying opportunities for optimisation and innovation, and the need for donor insight.
• Support markets to define and refine segmentations associated to identified journeys.
• Work with existing IG teams in market and PFP to ensure journeys are supported by Marketing Cloud templates that build on insights from journey plans, and show how Marketing Cloud can be utilized to improve financial performance and donor experience.
• Use journey plans to support the global team to refine the offer to countries, and ensure the donor experience is well understood and drives decision making.
• Work with IG colleagues to build on and refine a global set of templates for the automation of key donor journeys, providing countries with a starting point for testing and implementation using the Salesforce suite.
Track usage and performance of journey plans and Marketing Cloud templates across countries to provide feedback on improving the assets.
• Ensure journey planning is robust enough to be used by implementing partners when working with markets who are going to be implementing Salesforce.
• Workshops, toolkits and webinars delivered in line with agreed frequency and quality.

Education:
• A first level university degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.
Experience:
• At least five years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in communication, digital marketing, individual giving, and/or B2C marketing is required.
• Direct experience managing and building customer or donor journeys with multi-channel touchpoints is essential.
• Experience of some modern CRM (e.g. Dynamics, Marketing Cloud, Adobe) is essential.
• Experience of individual giving is desirable.
• Experience of Advanced Marketing Automation Platforms (SFMC, Adobe Campaign, Dynamics) – SFMC preferred.
• Prior strategy/management experience working with a global organization, especially working on projects of similar scale, involving multiple users and groups is desirable.
• Experience of consulting and strategy development is desirable.
• Knowledge of United Nations or other international aid or NGOs desirable.
Language:
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) for donor facing communication.
• For East Asia and Pacific (EAP) role: Fluency in English is required. Fluency in languages from EAP is an advantage.
• For Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) role: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Fluency in another UN language is an advantage.
