How can you make a difference?
Professional photo/videographer to gather visual content related to the education programme for resource mobilization, donor reports, advocacy, programme communication and other purposes.
Objectives
- Support resource mobilization, donor reports, and advocacy work with compelling and authentic images and videos of children and communities related to education and the UNICEF Kiribati Education programme partnership with the Government of Kiribati.
- Strengthen the documentation and communication of the education programme through quality photos and videos to show the programme impact on community members and children who have been impacted by the programme.
Scope of Work/ Work Assignments:
In support of the Education Section, the consultant will undertake the following content:
• Produce at least 200 high quality images related to Education and programmes supported by UNICEF Education Section, including photos focusing on students at all levels (ECCE to senior secondary), photos focusing on teachers, photos that focus on classroom interaction between teacher and students and among students, photos that focus on parental/community engagement and family support for children. The photos should reflect the diversity of Kiribati (including urban/rural, children with disabilities, gender).
• Produce three 3-5 minutes videos with sub-titles of UNICEF supported programme:
• (i) COVID-19 awareness song
• (ii) Remote learning
• (iii)ECCE curriculum
(UNICEF will provide video story ideas and guidance)
• Collect consent forms and produce captions (including full descriptive based on UNICEF guideline) to accompany all photos. (Caption guidelines to be provided.)
• Upload all photos to UNICEF Weshare web platform as per guidance from UNICEF
• Process, edit and share the visual materials via an agreed platform in both RAW and edited format, including a folder of ‘best of’ shots and RAW footage.
The photos and videos will be used in a variety of formats, including print, digital and social media and will remain UNICEF property. The contractor is expected to use own equipment to produce photos and videos.
Students with disabilities (ECE to JSS) getting individual support from a teacher in mainstream school/special school or learning together with other students in mainstream setting
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Completion of certificate in photography/image editing/graphics. In lieu of a certificate at least three years of professional standard photography

Ability to deliver images and stories according to the specified quality and technical requirements.

Substantive experience producing visual and text content for print, broadcast, online and social media platforms.

Professional photographer/storywriter with at least three years’ experience working with UNICEF or comparable international organizations/media.

Fluency in written English is required. Fluency in Kiribati is strongly preferred.

Expresses ideas and facts in writing and orally in a clear, organized and convincing manner appropriate to the audience and occasion.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
