Housekeeper
The British High Commission in Nicosia is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a full-time cleaner.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning the High Commission facilities, including both office space and residential properties.
The successful candidate will be expected to work on both sides of the Green Line – starting and ending the day at our offices in the north and the middle part of the day spent at the main British High Commission compound in the RoC.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Work in a small team of two, to ensure that all High Commission properties (including the offices and residential properties) are cleaned to a high standard.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Previous experience in cleaning services
- Ability to work under pressure, unsupervised, and as well as part of a 2-person team.
- Must be able to speak English at an A level according to CEFR Framework
- A professional manner.
- Strong customer service skills.
- An organised working manner.
- Driving license
- Proficiency in Greek and/or Turkish at a C level according to CEFR Framework

This is a full-time 12 months fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal.
The gross monthly salary for this position is €859.71 gross at S3(L) grade level.
The confirmation of appointment is subject to professional background checks and security clearance procedures, as well as the successful completion of a 6 month probation period.
The successful candidate must be free of any convictions, and undergo a UK security clearance process.

Staff recruited locally by the British High Commission in Nicosia are subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Republic of Cyprus employment law.

Visa/work permit requirements: candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Cyprus and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
