Main purpose of job:
The Press and Communications team of the British Embassy in Mexico is recruiting a Digital Manager to be based in the Mexico City offices. As a Digital Manager, you will be expected to design and deliver a digital strategy for the Embassy as well as managing and producing quality content for social media channels; provide support for Embassy sections at events, deliver paid campaigns and consular support through digital channels. To establish relations with social media opinion leaders and to produce analytical reports. You will also be directly working with the Ambassador to create bespoke content.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
- Developing strategies and executing social media campaigns independently, including creating content, monitoring and evaluating social media channels;
- Producing engaging digital content for Embassy channels including videos and creative imagery;
- Manage new and existing relationships with key opinion leaders in the digital landscape, creating a community;
- To support the Embassy Comms Team’s wider work, including organising large events as well as media handling when required;
- To contribute to the Embassy Comms Team during a crisis in accordance with the grading and core competencies of the job;
- Work closely with consular team by assessing social media requests that need further assistance;
- To participate actively in our corporate agenda, helping to build an inclusive and developmental culture within the team.
- Excellent writing, spelling and copywriting skills
- Basic video and audio editing for social media
- Qualitative and quantitative analytics management – data / information interpretation
- Paid social media campaigns
- Language: English (to proficient)
- Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right. The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference checks.
- Knowledge of the Mexican political atmosphere
- Knowledge of the UK-MX relationship
- Public relations skills
