Main purpose of job:

Provide general administration support for the BDSUS HR support Team, taking lead on processing offline iexpense claims and facilitate in theatre Service Discipline processes under direction of a military line manager.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

– Act as a first point of contact to military customer enquiries by evaluating, prioritising and answering telephone, voicemail, email and in-person requests for assistance or referring to the relevant subject matter expert (SME).

– Provide general administration support for the BDSUS J1 Team, taking lead on processing offline iexpense claims.  

– Facilitate in theatre Service Discipline processes under direction of a military line manager including:-

1) Advice on timelines and tracking casework to ensure deadlines are met.

2) Draft and issue Acknowledgement letters.

3) Coordinate interview procedures.

4) Coordinate requests for legal advice.

5) Facilitate the appointment and briefing of an Assisting Officer for personnel undergoing disciplinary procedures.

6) Draft and issue Admissibility letters.

7) Ensure electronic HR system workbench notes are kept up to date and all relevant documents are uploaded.

– Provide cover for other BDSUS J1 Support Officer desks when required.

– Manage internal HR records through filing and keeping internal databases up to date.  

– Ensure relevant information on the BDSUS website is kept up to date.

– Contribute to the development of a continuous improvement culture in the section recommending ways to improve service delivery where appropriate.

– Support wider Embassy and Defence Staff cross-functional initiatives.
