Main purpose of job:

The Department for International Trade (DIT) helps businesses export, drives inward and outward investment, negotiates market access and trade deals, and champions free trade.

Working with the Financial Services & Infrastructure managers you will be responsible for assisting our Trade Promotion efforts for British and Brazilian companies, aiming at increasing UK exports and supporting inward and outward investment.

You will assist the development and management of a pipeline of commercial opportunities in Brazil for UK companies with particular focus on, but not limited to, Asset management, Fintechs, Insurance, Airports, Railways and Water . You will also be responsible for the team’s administrative tasks and for regularly updating our client-management database.

Roles and responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on improving bilateral trade and investment between the United Kingdom and Brazil, especially through supporting the increase in UK exports. The Financial Services and Infrastructure Teams work to support High Value UK and Brazilian companies with significant trade potential as well as large UK investors in Brazil. 

You will support the production of content for events, missions and commercial meetings about the UK offer for business.

You will lead the preparation of market research reports, internal briefings, visiting programmes.

Your success in this position will be measured on the value of exports and direct investment you assist British companies to achieve in the Brazilian market. These companies will be clustered around the Financial Services & Infrastructure sectors.

You will support exporting companies in the UK to access the Brazilian market by delivering a number of high profile events, market information and marketing campaigns in Brazil, as well as assisting on the understanding of the market access barriers. This position will see you exposed to ministers and high profile contacts in the private sector; therefore, a high level of resilience and professionalism are essential. Two interns will assist this position.

The position will suit an energetic team player, motivated self-starter with an interest in the commercial sector. It will require a positive and proactive attitude that thinks in terms of unlocking opportunities for UK companies in Brazil.

  • University Degree in International Relations, Economics or related areas;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ minimum experience in business development and/or a client relationship management role;
  • Outstanding command of MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word);
  • Language: fluent in English Portuguese.

  • Knowledge and/or experience on the sectors mentioned, previous experience on line management.
