The British Embassy in Oslo is part of the worldwide UK diplomatic network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are seeking to recruit a new member of staff – Her Majesty’s Ambassador (HMA) Residence Housekeeper.
The HMA Residence Housekeeper will act as part of a little team ensuring the general smooth running of the residence for daily tasks as well as events and hosting guests.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Residence Events and catering responsibilities 40%

Ensure residence is in perfect order for receiving guests;

Assist with events preparation set up and serving meals;

Adaptability and a welcoming attitude towards changes.
Household cleaning, washing and ironing 40%

General cleaning and laundry;
-
Specific cleaning (Antique, Silverware, work of arts);

Water plants inside the residence;
Other duties 20%

Assist the Residence Manager with specific task requirements;

Liaise with Corporate Service Team to ensure maintenance support to the HMA Residence.

Strong hospitality skills and previous experience of service, in Hotel or private residence setting 4-5 star standard desirable.

Ability to demonstrate consistently high standards service.

Good attention to detail.

Good operational level of English (B1/B2 level according to the CEFR framework*).

Ability to work within a team or independently.
-
Ability to work under pressure and to operate flexibly in respect of working hours or duties.

Willing to take on new responsibilities as necessary.

Minimum 3 years work experience with Hotel or private residence.

This is a full-time fixed term contract for 1 year, five working days (currently 35 hours net) per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.
Employees recruited locally by the British Embassy Oslo are subject to terms and conditions of service in accordance with Norwegian employment law.
