Main purpose of job:
The jobholder will provide administrative, secretarial and organisational support to the Trade team at the Department for International Trade in the Embassy including on project work, senior level visits, events, financial administration, and information management.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
Support Trade priority sector works (35%):
- Assist in developing and implementing action plans
- Assist in identifying opportunities and business partners for UK exporters
- Provide relevant logistical and administrative support for campaign activities
Events support (30%):
- Coordinate with the sector leads and project manager to ensure receptions, meetings, and events are well-planned and delivered efficiently, including by designing and issuing invitations, and managing guest and RSVP lists
- Provide administrative support for project work, including managing suppliers, gathering and uploading information to ensure timely payment, and creating and closing purchase orders
Respond to general enquiries of the team and work on market research deliveries and Data Management (20%):
- Answer general enquiries from Korean and UK companies & provide relevant information as requested
- Assist with delivery of market research enquiries
- Undertake routine system/database data entry work
- Assist procurement and financial management processes
General DIT Administrative support (10%):
- IT Stock Management
- Translation of documents
- Assist with other relevant team-wide admin work when necessary
Corporate (5%):
- Take part and assist in duties for the wider Embassy including particiating in post’s crisis preparedness and response activities.
- Ability to write concise correspondence to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work on own initiative and/or as part of a team
- Exemplary organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
- IT skills, including Microsoft Office, social media
- Customer relationship management skills
- Financial management experience

Standard working hours are from 0900-1715 Monday to Thursday and 0900-1700 Friday. Working hours may be longer prior to the actual event and on the event days.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy Seoul are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Korean employment law.
