WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY’s Department of Anthropology is seeking applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track position in Anthropological Archaeology at the Visiting Assistant Professor level beginning fall semester 2021. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology. Applicants must be able to teach Introduction to Archaeology and are encouraged to teach a course in North American Archaeology or their area of expertise. Total teaching load will be 3-3 for the 2021-2022 academic year. Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to the training and professional development of undergraduates is required.

Wake Forest’s four-field anthropology department has eight full-time faculty and 60 undergraduate majors and minors. Over 90% of these students participate in faculty-mentored research and applied projects in anthropology. Students and faculty also engage with our award-winning Museum of Anthropology and its dynamic professional staff.
