Mercy Hands Europe (MHEurope) is a not-for-profit, non-political, non-religious organization registered in Geneva, Switzerland in December 2019, and in the North East Syria (NES). Mercy Hands is also registered in France since 2019.
MHEurope is born as a sister organisation of Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid (MH) based in Baghdad, Iraq. They share the same vision and mission but work independently of each other and are governed by different Boards of Directors and bylaws. Together these two NGOs form the Mercy Hands’ Alliance. The Mercy Hands’ Alliance comprises not-for-profit organizations that work for conflict-torn and disaster-affected areas to save lives, sustain human rights and restore a health community. Mercy Hands is also in Annecy, France.
MHEurope sustains the activities of the sister organizations and develops their own projects.
MHEurope implements humanitarian and development programs in different parts of the world, either directly through its field missions or through its sister organization or other local partners (Iraq, Syria, Turkey, KRI, NES).
MHEurope is looking for a volunteer that could initiate the French mission and that could be hired after its success.
The volunteer should be someone that is already based in France and has some knowledge of NGOs, French administration, funds opportunity and project writing.

Salary
Being a volunteer does not include the salary, however, based on the winning call for proposal that the candidate will achieve, s/he will receive at least the 2%.
Tasks and Responsibilities
You will report to the MHEurope Executive Director and your main role will be to launching the new office by:

Verifying the needed administration to follow up with the already existing registration;

Opening a bank account;

Looking for fund possibilities (i.e. donors and calls for proposal) and sending project (MHEurope can share many designed projects);

Being in contact with local donors;

Reporting on a weekly basis to MHEurope ED all the news, achievements; fund possibilities, challenges and various possibilities;
Requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English & French;

Be able to work independently;

Good knowledge of donors and funds opportunity;

Be able to successfully manage time and to continuously meet targets;

Good knowledge of France and Europe, its actors and institutions;

Basic knowledge of the MENA region context;

Good knowledge of European donors;

Knowledge on how to look for, and answer to a call for proposal;
Availability from no later than February 2021.
