About Safe Place International: SPI’s is a fast-growing nonprofit organization whose core mission/focus is supporting grassroots organizations around the world with resources and support for doubly marginalized refugees.

About The Role: The Volunteer Executive Director will support the president in building global relationships and raising awareness of our organization and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in close collaboration with the president to optimize SPI public image

  • Managing SPI’s budget and ensure that it is a financially viable, sustainable organization with the resources to meet current and projected program growth

  • Implementing programs that carry out the organization’s mission

  • Representing the organization, increasing awareness and being a liaison with local media

  • Developing high-level partnerships with NGOs, donors, and corporations

  • Overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization

  • Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. **

Skills

  • Ability to manage small teams

  • Strong public relations, marketing, and fundraising experience

  • Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of the organization

  • A solid knowledge of accounting, budgeting, financial management and communications

  • Commitment to results; ‘can-do’ mindset with emphasis on accountability

  • Strong motivational and leadership abilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Requirements

  • Deeply interested, committed and aligned with SPI’s mission
  • Minimum 1 year of commitment
  • Fluency in English Is required
  • 2+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector
