The Warehouse Assistant provides warehouse support to the Director of Inventory Control and is responsible for maintaining an orderly work area in the North Wilkesboro Warehouse. The position helps handle the flow of materials in and out of the warehouse and support the various ministries of Samaritan’s Purse.  If you have experience with warehouse operations, this may be your Career with Impact!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Safely operate a standard forklift, a reach forklift, and add water to the batteries as needed.
• Using a forklift, load and unload trucks and put material away in pallet racks and bulk storage lanes.
• Provide support to multiple ministries within Samaritan’s Purse (EFH, IDR, OCC, MAS, NAM, Retail Items, WMM) as required.
• Record daily material receipts on the Daily Receiving Log.
• Help unload floor loaded sea containers, palletize freight and shrink wrap pallets.
• Execute ad hoc warehouse project as needed.
• Maintain an orderly facility – take out rubbish, remove old pallets, sweep the facility.
• Perform physical inventories as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred.  Previous experience with hazardous materials is preferred.

Must obtain and maintain forklift license while safely operating equipment.
