North American Ministries responds quickly when natural disasters strike, deploying an army of volunteers to come alongside homeowners to bring relief and compassion in Jesus’ Name.This position serves in disaster response alongside Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Rapid Response Team (RRT) chaplains to provide spiritual and physical aid to hurting people.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
• Deploys with North American Ministries staff and Billy Graham RRT chaplains to disasters within the United States.
• Provides spiritual and emotional support and counsel to staff and volunteers on deployment.
• Provides spiritual and emotional support to Team Patriot volunteers deployed in disaster settings.
• Provides critical resources and support to individuals in crisis.
• Coordinates outreach referrals and services.
• Assesses staff and volunteers to determine their needs and follows up as needed. 
• Handles time-sensitive calls and emails as they arise. 
• Communicates orally and in written form with other team members to improve efficiency and overall crisis intervention success.
• Conducts briefings and workshops.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral or Crisis counseling or related field and at least two (2) years’ experience in stress management and crisis trauma; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
