Institutional Fundraising (IF) is proud of the important role it plays at PSI. The IF team is known as a group of quick-thinking and strategic folks who do what it takes to get the job done. The IF team is responsible for PSI’s fundraising activities with its institutional donor partners, including USAID, DFID, and many other governments and foundations.

We are looking for a Business Development Coordinator to manage PSI’s systems for identifying, tracking, and pursuing new business opportunities with government and private sector donors. This person will provide administrative support for proposal and budget development and will support institutional knowledge for the IF Team. We are looking for someone passionate about contributing to the health of those we serve, excellent writing skills, and an uncanny attention to detail. This is a full-time position based in Washington, D.C.

This position will report to the Senior Manager, Institutional Fundraising.

Responsibilities

Your contribution

  • Opportunity Identification and Management: Tracking funding opportunities for PSI and alerting country staff to requests for proposals and all relevant deadlines.
  • Proposal Development: Assisting with administrative components of assigned proposals including document formatting and editing, conducting background research for proposals, small amounts of proposal writing (including development of background sections and concept notes) and developing relevant charts, tables, graphics and other annexes, while also coordinating production and submission of proposals.
  • General Administration: Managing financial administration for the department (including department credit card reconciliation and IQC payments), overseeing consultant management and payment, maintaining a department calendar to track all deadlines, drafting general donor correspondence, maintaining department records, and performing other tasks as requested.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Overseeing the department’s Salesforce account to track opportunities throughout the proposal process, and develop reports on funding data on a quarterly basis, and as requested, for the PSI board and the Director of IF.Qualifications

The basics

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) a in relevant field (Public Health or Policy degrees are preferred).
  • At least one year of related administrative or office work experience is required.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management.
  • International experience preferred.
  • French or Spanish language skills are preferred.
  • Professional writing experience preferred.
  • References will be required.
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position.
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
