With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. About the Role

One Acre Fund is growing fast: we aim to more than double in scale within the next five years. This growth will be fueled by fundraising. We are looking for a passionate professional with project management experience and strong communication skills to join the Business Development team.

You will report to our Business Development and Partnerships Manager, and support on active grant stewardship, build systems for grant management, conduct strategic research for new partnerships, and executive ad-hoc writing projects. This is a career-track position, with multiple pathways to management based on performance and preference.

Responsibilities

Donor Stewardship

  • You will support the stewardship of several of One Acre Fund’s most important partnerships, through a variety of tasks
  • Examples include leading diligence requests, prepping meeting materials, managing replicable servicing tasks, managing internal team resources, and managing internal data systems

Writing

  • Contribute flex writing support for one-off projects, grant reports, and grant proposals
  • Examples may include producing brief memos in response to targeted donor inquiries, and components of larger projects

Research & Strategic Alignment

  • Conduct strategic research to identify and assess potential new partners for One Acre Fund
  • Validate claims and data for One Acre Fund in the markets we serve
  • Support internal alignment & coordinate with program teams on the most complex partnerships
  • Provide support for team meetings and strategy, including managing calendaring and conference call logistics, designing productive call agendas, and stewarding regular touchpoints on team dynamics and productivity

US Team Connectivity & Operations Support

  • (Potential, depending on candidate experience) Management of NYC office, including coordination with WeWork and support of 1AF staff office usage
  • (Potential, depending on candidate experience) Coordinate global team events including: professional development training days, summer picnics and holiday party, and quarterly alignment calls

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience
  • Experience with strategic research projects
  • Basic quantitative analysis skills
  • Experience managing complex projects from start to finish
  • Experience with direct stakeholder management
  • Genuine commitment to rural communities. You are passionate about providing opportunity to the hardest-working farmers on the planet.
