General solicitation for Chief of Party position applicants for Jhpiego Offices in Asia, Africa and USA (Baltimore, MD).

The Chief of Party will be responsible for driving project vision and leadership and direction to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial results and integrity of the project. The Chief of Party will have the overall responsibility for leadership and management, as well as reporting of project activities. S/he will serve as the project’s main point of contact with donor on routine and strategic matters S/he will be responsible for making key decisions and solving problems in short timeframes while ensuring operational and project quality and integrity. S/he will also ensure effective organizational management and communication with all levels of the host country government and international agencies.

This is a general COP position solicitation of applicants and recruitment is subject to funds availability from Jhpiego donors. Please indicate on your cv header section, your preferred location where you must have work authorization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Masters-minimum) in public health, health administration, international health or a related field; MD, RN preferred
  • Previous experience serving as Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party on U.S. government cooperative agreement or contract projects.
  • 10+ years’ experience successfully managing large, multi-partner, multi-year international health sector development projects (approximately $10M per year) that have implemented successful activities in HIV/AIDS, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition
  • At least five (5) years’ work experience in senior management positon in an international donor funded organization.
  • At least three years’ work experience in supervising senior staff.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in establishing project systems and overseeing project start-up and close-out
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple sub-partners and institutional capacity development, including working effectively with diverse range of counterparts
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing financial reporting to USAID and resource management for program results
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with senior government officials in relevant ministries, preferably MOH.
