Summary of position:
The High Commission of Canada is looking for candidates to join their HR Regional service team to assist with the delivery of HR programs and services to our High Commission in London and to a number of other Canadian Embassies located across Europe.
The duties will include supporting an HR team with HR recruitment processes as well as providing day to day HR support and ad-hoc HR tasks which include providing administrative support and advice and general human resources assistance throughout the region.

 

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and Curriculum Vitae (CV) how they meet each of these essential qualifications. Only candidates who meet all the Essential Requirements will proceed to the next stage of the process.

Education:
• A’ Levels or equivalent

Language:
• Fluent* in English (oral, written, comprehension)
• Fluent* in French (oral, written, comprehension)

* Fluency will be assessed by a variety of means including written assessment and interview.

Experience:
Experience working in an administrative capacity where duties typically include performing office procedures such as:
• Processing routine transactions such as applications and documents
• Organizing straightforward logistics for assessments, events, meetings
• Creating files and managing information
• Responding to clients via phone, email and in person

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written or online examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations, psychometric assessment and/or reference checks.

Operational Requirements:
• Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, worked Monday to Friday at time to be arranged by the supervisor.
• As part of the High Commission’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the CSDP LDN team will be working remotely until advised otherwise.
• Overtime may be necessary on occasion.

 

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory employment and character references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security screening (including a criminal record check).
• Copies of educational qualifications will be required at the interview stage of the process.
• Successful candidate must have a valid passport and the required documentation allowing the right to work in the UK. Documentation will be required.
