About UNICEF

If you are a committed, creative professional and are passionate about making a lasting difference for children, the world’s leading children’s rights organization would like to hear from you. For 70 years, UNICEF has been working on the ground in 190 countries and territories to promote children’s survival, protection and development. The world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments. UNICEF has over 12,000 staff in more than 145 countries.

BACKGROUND

We believe that smart demand, supply and use of data drives better results for children. When the right data are in the right hands at the right time, decisions can be better informed, more equitable and more likely to protect children’s rights.

UNICEF’s Data & Analytics section (D&A) which sits in the Division of Data Analytics, Planning and Monitoring (DAPM), is the global go-to for data on children.  D&A’s data communication team assures that stakeholders and advocates for child rights such as governments, civil society, and media but also UNICEF staff around the world can easily find and access this information, including open data, statistics, and analysis on children.

The data communication team oversees UNICEF’s data hub – data.unicef.org. We are constantly striving to enhance the user experience of the website by ensuring the quality, integrity and organization of the data. D&A produces a robust arsenal of thought products throughout the year based on the results of data analysis, including reports, brochures and dashboards – we make sure that these products reach their intended recipients and beyond – whether that’s through targeted email campaigns, blog posts, events, influencers or social media. We also realize the importance of in-house capacity to drive real-time use of data. We enable UNICEF staff around the world to better visualize and communicate the wealth of data available.
