Within the framework of the ForumCiv Project, promoted by SOS Sweden and developed in Aldeas Infantiles SOS Bolivia, it has been proposed to implement an intervention based on the Active Fatherhood approach, recovering the methodological proposal and lessons learned, in the I work with families.

The Active Fatherhood project will be developed in the town of Santa Cruz, Bolivia within the framework of a pilot proposal that seeks to recover experience, lessons learned, and technical tools for implementation active fatherhood approach.

Based on the piloting in SOS Children’s Villages Bolivia, and other experiences developed in Latin America, it is intended to implement a similar process in the countries of Mozambique, Togo and Benin. The following consultancy intends to develop a preparatory phase with the local teams in these countries, which allow to recognize potentialities and challenges of the context for the implementation of the activated parenthood project

The following consultancy is proposed in an initial contracting period for three months, considered as a preparatory stage, with the possibility of extending the implementation phase of the Global Active Fatherhood Project.

1 Objectives

1.1 General

  1. Coordinate the preparatory phase for the implementation of the Global Active Fatherhooh Project, which includes the liaison and organization of activities with local teams in the countries of Bolivia, Benin, Togo and Mozambique, as well as the recovery of lessons learned and the experience of the piloting process in the town of Santa Cruz.

1.2 Specific

  1. Coordinate work meetings with local teams in each country to learn about contextual conditions, challenges and work strategies for the implementation of the Active Fatherhood Project..

  2. Facilitate training sessions on the Active Fatherhood approach for the people involved in the project, ensuring a unified understanding of the approach and project to be implemented.

  3. Prepare a brief Implementation Guide for the Active Fatherhood approach, considering the experience developed in different Member Associations in Latin America.

  4. Recovery of lessons learned, monitor status and progress of project implementation in the countries.

  5. Design work reports on the activities carried out and recommendations for the project implementation process.

1 Products

The consultancy must, during and at the end of the development, deliver:

  1. Work plan:

· Includes methodological proposal

· Schedule

  1. Methodological design and facilitation of training sessions on the Active Fatherhood approach

  2. Proposal and reports on work meetings and coordination with the countries to work, considering objectives and results.

  3. Delivery of the Implementation Guide of the Active Fatherhood Approach in Family Strengthening Programs (includes a box of materials: Manual of instruments, methodologies and implementation recommendations).

  4. Final report on global coordination (incorporates recommendations and lessons learned from implementation in the countries mentioned).

  5. Design and facilitation of a global webinar, with the presentation of results and lessons learned from the initial phase of the Global Active Fatherhood Project.

2 Scope

· The consultancy will be in an initial phase of 3 months, with possibilities of extension for the implementation process. The consultant should coordinate with the local teams of SOS Children’s Villages Bolivia, SOS Children’s Villages Mozambique, SOS Children’s Villages Benin, SOS Children’s Villages Togo, as countries of implementation of the Project.

· The consultant must establish communication and coordination with the team responsible for the Project in the SOS Children’s Villages Regional Office, Latin America, as well as with the SOS Sweden team (program manager for ForumCiv and program manager responsible for the thematic / AF)

3 Profile of the consultant

The Consultant must meet the following requirements:

· Professional or professional team in social sciences or for purposes, with proven work experience of at least 5 years in childhood issues and a rights approach.

· Experience and training on issues related to the gender approach, gender mainstreaming, alternative masculinities approach, active fatherhoods.

· Knowledge related to care policies, prevention of gender-based violence.

· Proven experience in project management and social programs.

· Spanish and English languages: superior skills in understanding, communication and writing of both languages. Desirable command of the French language.
