Title: Coordinator, Public Policy & Advocacy

Classification: Full-time, non-exempt

How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?

We are seeking a Coordinator to provide overall support to the Public Policy and Advocacy team. The Coordinator will support both the U.S. and global policy and advocacy efforts in order to advance EGPAF priorities in the United States, and around the world. Candidates must have a strong interest in public policy, be an independent worker and able to manage multiple projects concurrently.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect as a Coordinator for Public Policy and Advocacy?

· Provide day-to-day administrative and logistical support to the Public Policy and Advocacy team, and ad-hoc support to the Office of the President.

· Support monitoring of global health and development legislation within the U.S. Congress, as well as other legislation pertaining to children’s health and pediatric AIDS.

· Support monitoring of regulatory issues pertaining to children’s health and pediatric AIDS.

· Maintain documentation for the team including creating and updating materials for internal and external audiences.

· Coordinate team assets including updating the public policy and advocacy section of the website, organizing and tracking materials and asks.

· Research relevant policy and advocacy issues as background support for U.S. and global efforts including analyzing new reports and data.

· Create presentations, compile reports, and draft correspondence, as requested.

· Attend and summarize discussions and outcomes from global health community roundtable meetings and other briefings in Washington DC.

· Collaborate with the external affairs team to drive media advocacy on strategic issues relevant to the PPA team’s work.

· Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.

To be successful, you will have…

· 0-2 years of relevant experience

· Excellent communication skills, with an ability to work individually or in a team environment; ability to interact and communicate with individuals of all levels (internally and externally)

· Proven ability to work effectively and multi-task as member of a dynamic inter-departmental team in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, take initiative, and follow through

· Familiarity with or interest in public health or a related field

· Demonstrated leadership in the following competencies: problem solving, flexibility, resilience, and time/resource management

Bonus points if you have…

· Proficiency in French or Portuguese

· Capitol Hill, public policy, or global health experience
